Cascading wins (also called avalanche, tumble or drop wins) replace winning symbols with new ones falling from above, allowing additional wins to chain from a single spin. The mechanic appears in Megaways, cluster-pays and many other modern slot formats.
Most cascading-win slots increment a multiplier with each successive cascade in a single spin or bonus round, producing potentially substantial single-spin payouts when long chains hit. The mechanic is mathematically equivalent to paylines for RTP purposes — what changes is the visual and rhythmic experience of play.
Example usage
- Gonzo's Quest (the original avalanche slot, 2010)
- Sweet Bonanza
