This page used to compare two VGW sister sites. That comparison no longer works: VGW closed LuckyLand Slots on September 14, 2026. Below is what happened, what it meant for LuckyLand accounts, how Chumba Casino compares for former LuckyLand players, and where else to go.
What happened to LuckyLand Slots
VGW, the company behind Chumba Casino and Global Poker, announced on July 28, 2026 that it would close LuckyLand Slots. The wind-down came in three steps: Gold Coin purchases ended on August 3, gameplay ended on August 24, and the platform closed on September 14, 2026, when redemptions stopped.
Balances did not move to other VGW sites. Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins held at LuckyLand could not be transferred to Chumba Casino or Global Poker, so the only way to get value out was to redeem eligible Sweeps Coins before the September 14 closure.
The luckylandslots.com address now opens LuckyLand Casino, a separate VGW product. It is not the old LuckyLand Slots site, and we have not reviewed it yet. VGW says it is concentrating on Chumba Casino, Global Poker and LuckyLand Casino.
LuckyLand Slots is closed
LuckyLand Slots stopped all play on August 24, 2026 and closed on September 14, 2026. Old balances did not carry over to Chumba Casino or any other VGW site.

How the two sites compared
Before the closure, both sites ran on the same VGW platform and paid out by ACH, Skrill or mailed check. Chumba had the broader lobby, with table games as well as slots, while LuckyLand focused on slots alone. We rated them 8.8/10 and 8.5/10.
If LuckyLand's slots are what you miss, Chumba's slot section is the closest match because it comes from the same operator. You will need to open a Chumba account and complete its verification, since nothing carried over from LuckyLand.
