GGR (Gross Gaming Revenue)

An operator's revenue from gambling — total stakes minus winnings paid to players.

Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) is the standard industry metric for operator revenue: total amount staked minus winnings paid back to players. It is the figure UK operators report to UKGC and is the base on which the statutory levy and gambling duty are calculated.

The 2025 statutory levy applies 1.1% to online GGR. Remote Gaming Duty applies 21% to online casino and bingo GGR (separately to the levy). GGR is reported quarterly by operators to UKGC and forms the basis of the public market-share figures published in UKGC's industry statistics.

Example usage

  • £100m total stakes - £95m payouts = £5m GGR
