Max bet rule

A clause limiting the per-spin stake while a bonus is active — often £5 — to discourage abuse.

Most UK casino bonus terms cap the maximum stake per spin while bonus credit is active. £5 is the most common cap. Stake above the limit, even by accident, and the operator can void the bonus and any winnings derived from it.

This is one of the most common reasons player complaints arise — placing a £6 spin while clearing wagering can wipe a balance. Always check the max bet rule before claiming any bonus, and adjust your stake accordingly.

Some operators apply the cap to absolute bet size; others to bet size relative to the bonus value. Auto-spin features can also breach max-bet rules unintentionally if the stake is set above the limit.

Example usage

  • £5 max bet while bonus active
  • 10% of bonus value as max bet (if bonus = £20, max bet = £2)
